 another winnerTried out projection night at the camera club this month. Entered three of my favorites from the past year for the competition via e-mail. Much easier than printing and matting photos for print night. The traditional slides competed first - only a few photographers left working with slide film. After the break - with Fresca, almonds and a delicious cake - the old timey slide projector was replaced with a new-fangled digital projector. My work looks so much more impressive projected larger than life on the wall rather than confined to an 8 x 10 frame. There were 27 entries in the novice digital category, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and 7 honorable mentions. My foray into negative space - Sky - didn't make the first cut. Daffodil and Ferns made it to the second round, then Daffodil was cut. Ferns, taken last year on the fern bank at the farm, made it to the final round and garnered Honorable Mention. Previous winners (all honorable mentions) include Morning Glory, Praying Mantis and Fiddleheads.
