oak point
took a leisurely walk to oak point on uncle jim's land with mom. last time was in 2002 with ginger, thelma and louise, and I was recovering from a nasty concussion. this time we were joined by daisy, nesslee and thelma, and I had my own camera and more energy. the woods haven't changed much. more growth in the previously cleared right-of-way. saw many types of ferns and even a couple new-to-us wildflowers.
mandela webcast
opted to watch nelson mandela on the web rather than trekking into the district. was glad I did. the 1.5 hour presentation ended up being only 15 minutes long without any q&a afterward.
geocaching, sort of
taped the law & order episode featuring my geocaching hobby. they portrayed it as a buried treasure hunting activity even though it is a big no-no to bury a cache.
star wars: episode 3
caught the 830 am showing at the uptown on sunday. didn't know movies were shown at that hour. printed out some character masks from the web and thoroughly embarrassed the youngins. the movie exceeded my low expectations and closed the saga's loose ends nicely. made me want to watch the old ones again.
